Accessibility Statement

Services Across America is built for people having one of the worst weeks of their lives, often on an old phone with a bad signal. Accessibility is not an afterthought here.

What we aim for

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That means keyboard access to everything, visible focus outlines, real form labels, sufficient colour contrast in both the light and dark themes, text that reflows at 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom, and no information carried by colour alone.

Known limitations

Interactive maps are hard to use without a pointer. Every map on this site is paired with the same information as a text list, and no task requires using the map. Alert text is reproduced verbatim from government feeds, which sometimes use all-capitals headlines we cannot rewrite.
